This blog is written to document the journey of building a non profit called Striving for More to fund psychosocial services for kids with cancer. We identified the need after we went through the journey with our own daughter, Colleen. She was treated at three different hospitals with three very different levels of services. Psychosocial services include pediatric psychologists, child life specialists, social workers and pastoral services.
What a great event. I am sorry we could not stay to see you and Vince get shaved. I loved watching the video. I cried more in that than I did when ELizabeth had her head shaved. I am glad the amount of money raised kept going up and up. God Belss. Sarah Jewett
Colleen is always in our hearts, never far from our thoughts and frequently on our lips. Although we seem to be living a life of a "new normal", our hearts still ache with horrible grief. However, we have found a way to function and fuel our days with the love and positive energy that Colleen left as a result of her many unspent days.
